The Exploration of Options #BottomOfTheBarrelOptions - January 19, 2024

- After a few hours, Theophania finds her way to the stone circle deep in the woods northwest of the city of Mistverge. She approaches the circle making sure she isn't disrupting any active magical workings, and then just calls out asking if there are any druids here. Then she sits and waits.

 

- Meanwhile back in Mistverge, Osiris tells Rusty about the messages to Tina, then she does a sending to Jimmy the smuggler, "Jimmy? Are you alive? We need help and it might be a business opportunity for you."

- He responds, "Who is this? What kind of business opportunity?" 

- Osiris Sends again, "It's Osiris. Your best friend. We're in a predicament where we need to acquire a bunch of silver to save the city. You interested or know anyone who's interested in that kind of business venture?"

- He responds again, "You're asking about silver smuggling? Maybe I can help you. How much money do you have?"

- Osiris Sends again, "Yes, I personally have like 150 gold, but you'll be cutting into Lord McNabb's profits. If you're in town, this would be much easier."

- He responds again, "Yeah, I'm working for McNabb shipping, so it would all be coming out of his pocket anyway. 150 is nothing. Call me again when you're serious." 

- She decides not to waste any more spells on the Jimmy route and she and Rusty head back to the Temple of Mishakal.

- Osiris suggests Rusty ask Connie the Construct if he saw any silver deposits as he was tunneling his way through the earth.

- Rusty does so, but Connie is not a mining robot, and doesn't know anything about silver.

- Meanwhile back at the library, Raiàn and Lyrielle are killing time trying to find out things when they get a message from Osiris asking if anyone has heard from Tiff in the past few hours.

 

- That evening at the druid circle Tiff Sends to Tina, "Do you know if you can get or find Moonwort in Arrandale? Need it to try to free the trapped souls. Learn anything interesting lately?"

- Tina responds, "Mmmm, botany really isn't my thing, sorry. Also not in Arrandale right now, I'm on a quest to not kidnap Russell Santiago for Osiris." 

- Tiff Sends to Osiris, "Who is Russell Santiago?"

- Osiris responds, "You've talked to Tina. He's a paladin of Paladine. For the holy water, you know?"

- Tiff immediately moves on and Sends to Sharai, "Can you get or find 10 lbs of Moonwort spores? I've invented an elixir to free the trapped souls in Agonir's hoard. Thank you!"

- Sharai responds, "Moonwort doesn't really grow here. More likely near Wistaria or Ambani. Also 10 lbs of spore is fucking insane. That must be a crazy potion."

- Tiff starts talking to an owl who turns out to be an elven druid named Elidar who is reluctant to help a city dweller as he views the city and technology as a corruption of nature.

- Tiff manages to convince Elidar that if she brings him seeds he will grow them to the point where she can harvest the flowers.

- Tiff then flies straight up until she can see the twinkle of the lights in Mistverge and gets home without running into any bats (a worry since she's never flown at night before).

- Meanwhile, Osiris asks Rowan if she knows an transmutation wizards? She does not.

- Jinora is still in town, so they ask her if she knows any transmutation wizards, but she does say she could maybe help gather some things. They consider asking her to go for the bay trees in the west near Raiàn's family's lands.

- Tiff hands Raiàn a Scroll of Sending (since that's what they came to the boarding house to do in the first place when they ran into Jinora) and from there heads to the General Store. She manages to get 100SP and some silver flatware for the cause.

- Osiris goes to Norman and gets 500SP in exchange for 50GP, and also a small bag of Life-Everlasting seeds for Tiff to take to Elidar.

- Rusty also plants the idea of transmuting other materials into silver into Magnus's head.

 

- 3,000 XP ea. for 118,500 XP total ea.

In Which There is a Lot of Running Around - January 5, 2024

 - Several days after the porridge battle, Tiff bursts into Osiris's room in the middle of her trance to announce she thinks she has a solution 

- Tiff sits down to let O review her notes and immediately passes out

- Osiris waits a few hours, then messages the rest of the team, none of whom answer

- She then goes and talks to Headpriestess Rowan about the holy water requirement

- She then talks to Marta about the plants, and Marta is able to tell her about 3/5

- Osiris then goes to the Curlywit Boarding House to divide and conquer what she can

- Raiàn and Lyrielle (for moral support only) talk to Lord McNabb about the large requirements of silver needed to craft the 10 gallons of holy water, he agrees to talk to the city council and get in the required amount (40,000 SP worth)

- Osiris and Rusty (for moral support) circle around through the other temples in town to see who has holy water or who could help donate time to make more

    - There's a small temple to Branchala, god of music, in the halfling part of town near the boarding house, the only member / temple halfling there give her one flask (1 cup) of holy water

    - There's a very nice temple to Paladine, god rulers and guardians, in the rich part of town where she learns of a paladin named Russell Santiago in Caledonia and also collects two more flasks (2 cups) of holy water. She comes up with the idea to have a Religious festival where they can 

    - Near Lord McNabb's history library / museum there's a small building for Lunitari, god of neutral magic, where she learns about Moonwort the fern Tiff needs as one of the five ingredients (not including the holy water) and it might be found in the Orcish Caliphate north of what was once known as the town of Birchwood. She also learns that bay trees would grow on the far west coast of the continent past Rusty's desert. 

    - There's a temple to Shinare, goddess of wealth and trade, near the Trader's Gate, where she and Rusty are unable to negotiate a deal for this prosperity-gospel-type, pyramid-scheming jerk for any aid of any kind because the priest only cares about profit.

    - At the temple to Habbakuk, god of animal life and the sea, near the docks, she finds that the acolyte      (Rosemary) under the elderly priest CAN actually cast divine magic and is willing to help craft holy water

- Osiris Sends to Tina, "Need you to go to Caledonia to pick up Russell Santiago from the temple of Paladine.We need divine caster for holy water."

- Tina responds, "Osiris! Great to hear from you! Does he know I'm coming? What does he look like? What do you mean you need casters for holy water?"

- Osiris Sends again, "No idea about appearance. Doesn't know you're coming. Tiff devised plan to release dragon souls. We need holy water, thus casters. Can you get silver?"

- Tina again responds, "So am I kidnapping him? Don't know if I'm down for that. Gotta help get rid of the dragon, though. Silver? I thought his name was Russell."

- Osiris Sends for a third time, "Please ask him to come. There's potential combat glory in the name of Paladine by battling the dragon. Silver is used to make holy water."

- Tina, "Oooooooooh. Cool cool cool. I can do that. Don't have any silver though." 

- Once she finally wakes up Tiff uses the Earring of Message to coordinate with what everyone is up to, and she says she will go talk to Vianola, where she buys six 30" sage stalks and orders 5 lbs of Prunella vulgaris roots. It's not the correct season for the 20 lbs or so of Anaphalis margaritacea flowers, but maybe the druid out at the circle in the woods can help?

- Tiff gets Vianola to mark the approximate location of the stone circle of the druids on her map of the area, and she immediately flies in that direction.

- Raiàn and Lyrielle go to the temple library to learn about the two plants that don't grow in this area. The librarian suggests that bay trees would grow in the area Raiàn comes from, so she and Lyrielle discuss that she might be able to Send (if Tiff can make a scroll) to her cousin to arrange for some bay branches brought to Striker and Breaker which they can teleport to.

- It also occurs to the two of them that Tiff's cousins who run the travelling caravan might have an idea of where to find or get or trade for Moonwort.

Porridge, Porride Everywhere, and Not a Drop to Eat - December 15, 2023

 - Double CR sweatshirts

- After working with Raiàn late into the night, Tiff has figured out that if you can cast a spell into one of the crystals in the network, it can cascade through all the crystals.

- Rusty gets Connie the Construct out of Osiris's room and sends it over to the history library to wave at Adalbert and Glorina.

- Osiris wakes Tiff up (a very sleepy, crusty-eyed halfling) to follow up on what she might have figured out, and they try a Dispel Magic and Tiff realizes that while it didn't work, it probably only didn't work because these crystals aren't the anchor of the spell. Logic dictates the spell anchor is probably deep within the dragon's lair, mostly likely in a place it will guard itself.

- She immediately starts looking through a book on her table while Raiàn continues sleeping off the late night, so Osiris goes to meet with Magnus as she had arranged to teach him the spell "Create Food and Water"

- Magnus takes a while to figure out how to conjure porridge, and he accidentally makes a porridge monster construct when he finally manages to produce anything.

- Lyrielle runs around the corner from the courtyard where they were practicing and the Porridge has grown, a lot

- Lyrielle and Osiris and Magnus manage to contain the thing in the street long enough for the innocent bystanders to get away and long enough for Lyrielle's call over the Message Earrings to be heard and for Tiff, Raiàn, and Rusty to show up

 

TIME TO PUNCH THE PORRIDGE

- Rusty rushes up and hits the Porridge for 16 slashing dmg

- P smashes Rusty with a pseudo-pod of porridge knocking him prone for 20 (10) bludgeoning dmg then slams into him again for 19 (9) bludgeoning dmg

- Raiàn studies it for a second and then casts Chain Lightning on it for 19 lightning dmg. It smells like burned food on your stove 

- P sees who casts the lightning on him and lobs a glutinous ball of goo at Raiàn for 15 acid dmg and she is Grappled in the goo, and then lobs a second one at Tiff for 20 acid dmg, but Tiff is not Restrained.

- Tiff hands Raiàn an elixir of healing then she rushes forward 25', she casts Haste on Rusty, then activates her Rope of Climbing with the Healing Bonk tied to the end.

- P opens a giant mouth in the middle and spews porridge for 9 acid dmg on Tiff, Osiris, Rusty, and Magnus

- Lyrielle runs in to flank with Rusty and smacks it for 6 bludgeoning dmg and then for 12 and then for 13 and then lastly for 7 bludgeoning dmg and P is somehow through DMS robbed of its Reaction.

- P smacks Lyrielle for 12 bludgeoning dmg and she is knocked prone then it smacks her again for 10 bludgeoning dmg

- Osiris moves up 15' and calls her Twilight Sanctuary

 

- Rusty stands up slices into P for 24 slashing dmg, then again for 26 slashing dmg then lastly for 20 slashing dmg, 18 temp HP from the Sanctuary

- P slams into Rusty for 19 (9) bludgeoning dmg then again for 14 (7) bludgeoning dmg, and he manages to keep his feet this time.

- Raiàn casts Fireball (Carefully) above P so that it's high enough not to hit Rusty or Lyrielle and deals 56 fire dmg. The top half is now crispy and blackened and a strong of halfling-sized laundry is incinerated.

- P spews acid porridge on Tiff, Rusty, Osiris, and Magnus for 35 acid dmg and they all fall prone 

- Tiff sends the Healing Bonk Rope 10' towards Rusty, casts Cure Wounds on herself and ducks behind the nearby building, 14 temp HP

- P misses Rusty and then slams into him for 14 (7) bludgeoning dmg

- Lyrielle stands up and smacks P for 6 bludgeoning dmg, then again for 7 bludgeoning dmg, then she prepares herself to Dodge any incoming attacks, 17 temp HP

- Osiris stands up, casts Cure Wounds with a Prayer Point on Theophania for 21 HP, then gets the temp HP for her Sanctuary

 

- Rusty stands up and slices P for 17 slashing dmg then misses the slices it again for 20 slashing dmg, 14 temp HP

- P hits Lyrielle for 21 bludgeoning and then misses

- Raiàn casts Fireball in the air above P again for 47 fire dmg

- P slams Rusty for 14 (7) bludgeoning dmg and Rusty is knocked on his ass then it misses 

- Tiff moves out to line of sight, tries casting Sacred Flame, but P dodges, then she sends the Healing Bonk 10' closer to Rusty and ducks back behind the building

- Lyrielle deals 9 and then 10 bludgeoning dmg and prepares to Dodge again.

- Osiris also tried to cast Sacred Flame to show Tiff how it's done and P dodges again much to O's chagrin

 

- Rusty stands up slices into P for 35 slashing and 5 acid (CRIT!) then he misses then slices it again for 35 slashing dmg and then again for 22 slashing dmg

- P pummels Rusty for 25 (12) bludgeoning then again for 31 (15) bludgeoning then AGAIN for 21 (10) bludgeoning dmg

- Raiàn casts Fireball again for 41 fire dmg

- Lyrielle smacks P for 8 bludgeoning dmg then again for 12 bludgeoning dmg then again for 11 bludgeoning dmg, and then misses on her final punch

- Osiris casts Toll the Dead but misses 

- Rusty misses then slices into P for 20 slashing dmg, then again for 23 slashing dmg

- P slams Rusty 18 (9) then again for 20 (9) then misses

- Raiàn casts Fireball for 44 fire dmg and P splats and porridge goes everywhere splattering everyone except Tiff and Magnus

 

- Magnus says he'll try again now, but he passes out instead.

- Some healing is bonked.

- The guards finally run up and the situation is explained, and our badge is flashed.

- A wellness check is arranged for Magnus who is going to continue experimenting with the spell.

- While the party is drinking tea with Callie a chest with 1700 GP arrives for Rusty

 

- 3,500 XP ea for 112,500 XP ea.

D&D, the Sitcom #BYYYEEEEEEEEEEE - December 8, 2023

 - Fellowship of the Penguins

- First thing in the morning, Tiff opens the portal to the desert, introduces herself to Striker and Breaker, checks on the patients (no worse, but not better either), and then goes back and helps the change of the nursing staff shift from her side as well

- Osiris casts Commune in her butterfly garden with her butterfly

    - Are me and my friends ready to kill the dragon? No.

    - Are we capable of freeing the souls in the gems? Yes.

    - Is the only way to free the soul to kill the dragon? No.

- Osiris then goes and asks Rowan what she knows about souls, their composition, and that the souls are drawn to the celestial realm without the anchor of the body, but maybe Lady Blackmore's grimoires of necromancy might have some answers?

- Osiris then goes to find Rusty (Earring: "Hey Rusty, where are you? Are you wearing pants?" Which is funny because he does wear nor need to wear pants since he has no visibly genitalia as a robot man.) since the grimoires are in Dwarven and Rusty is the only person she knows who speaks Dwarven.

- Tiff starts carefully analyzing the chemical and structural make-up of the crystal from the soul hoard. It's just gonna take time.

- Raiàn goes and vists their rich friends

- Lyrielle is running around town and notices there's the start of a riot in the market over food. She sends over the earrings about it, and Raiàn and Osiris say they will come help. Tiff doesn't respond at all.

- Osiris goes to the Temple kitchen and grabs some bags of potatoes and apples and what she can carry and Sends to Captain Swinson, "There's a riot in the market. Didn't know if you knew. Bring food. Byyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee."

- Captain Swinson responds, "Damn. Be there in a bit."

- Osiris gets there first due to proximity and tries to start with one guy offering him food, but he takes the potato and throws it at the head of one of the guard. She moves on and tries to find other people who truly just want food and has about a 50% / 50% success rate, but the crowd grows a little bit smaller. A LITTLE bit.

- Osiris then identifies the person yelling the loudest and hardest at the guards and interposes herself between the two and discovers that there is like a 20x increase in prices since last week.

- Raiàn arrives at about this time.

- Osiris buys three stalls worth of food for 50GP and rations it out to the mob and that calms things at least for today

- She tells Marta about how she's sending hungry people to the temple who laughs about how angry Norman will be since he was released from the hospital this morning

- Osiris runs to beat Marta to Norman so she can fill out an expense report to get reimbursed for the food she bought

- She gets the just ahead of Marta enough to fill out the form in her best handwriting, which then Marta promptly approves for her upon arrival, and as she's speedwalking away down the hall she hears Norman's exclamation of "WHAT?!"

- Tiff's analyzing the crystal and when she turns back to where the slab black tendrils has already grown down the table and she shouts one of her very rare curses, "FOUK!" She chops the tendrils with a dagger and they dry out pretty quickly.

- The crystals themselves don't seem to be special. They're just a common mineral like a smoky quartz. 

- A watched tendril never grows (or at least grows much more slowly than if you aren't paying attention).

- Osiris heads back to Rusty who has found the sections of the grimoires related to trapping souls and has begun transcribing those bits into Common.

- Osiris and Rusty arrive to Tiff stomping on a black tendril she has freshly chopped off the crystals again

- Osiris voluntarily goes to talk to Magnus and offers to teach him the spell Create Food and Water if he promises not to charge for it until after the crisis is over so that he gains knowledge and maybe eventually something profitable. They agree to meet the next morning for the lesson

- Tiff does a Sending to Tina, "Can you reverse necromancy stuff or bring a friend who can? Whole new problem in Mistverge and it's getting worse. Miss you!"

- Tina responds, "Necromancy? Oh my gosh, still? I thought you got all that stuff sorted? It's not my best subject, but I've done a few Speak with Deads. How can I help?"

- Tiff Sends to Tina again, "TLFS*, but there's souls trapped in crystals by the thousands. There's a dragon. Any help appreciated and needed ASAP. Did I mention DRAGON?!" 

- *Too Long for Sending

- The response is, "Shit, a dragon! Kill it with fire! LOL. Will look into soul trapping stuff. Don't get eaten."

- Raiàn and Rusty immediately start arguing about his translation skills while Tiff is furiously

- Tina Sends to Tiff, "Sharai says that creating a bunch of soul crystal would be really hard. They would need to be networked together for the spell to work on them."

- Tiff responds, "Thanks. P.S. Breaking the crystals destroys the soul, so not an option. Nothing special about crystals chemically or structurally. Maybe that helps your further researches."

- With her new knowledge she realizes that the black tendrils are the network that connects the crystals and the crystals growing the tendrils are them trying to reconnect with the network.

- Rusty proposes going back to the hoard and chopping tendrils instead of crystals, and Tiff has them turn their backs on the soul crystals taken back out of the bag of holding and turning their backs on them for 5 minutes, and there are 18" of tendrils in only five minutes, so that's probably not a feasible option.

- The tendrils don't seem to grow inside the bag, so they go back into the bag after the tendrils are chopped again.

- Tiff Sends to her cousin Cora Goodkey whose a farmer out in the Hives (Punchipalma), "There's a food crisis in Mistverge. Please send any surplus this direction."

- She gets in response, "But all us Littl'un are leaving Mistverge. Shouldn't we keep the food here?"

- Same problem with another cousin in a different direction. 

- Apparently all the farm workers in the Mistverge area are halflings...

Experimental Convalescence - December 1, 2023

 - You're doing a good job and your hair looks nice dino

- Tiff rushes over to the Hospital Wing and discovers that she now knows the spell Detect Poison and Disease through Aunt Thessalie

- Her observations show her that it is a magical disease which neither Cure Wounds nor Lesser Restoration will touch

- The scaly rash absorbs water and gets visibly worse when the water, so Thessalie sends a nurse (or someone) to get a few chemicals she knows to be desiccants and runs tests on the rashes on the outside of the three patients throats to see if anything will dry out the rash and kill it while also discussing with Osiris and the nurse if Water Breathing and a lungful of water would get around the rash while still allowing them to absorb water and not die of thirst

- Osiris goes down to the Rites wing to autopsy a person who has died of this disease to see how far down the rash goes

 

- Rusty goes to the library of history to show some of the Dwarven artifacts they found

- He meets Adalbert Gamwich and Glorina there

- He sells them all the paperwork, the tapestry, and the small weapons they found in the treasury for 1500GP, which would apparently come from Lord McNabb

- He also offers to translate the one manuscript in Dwarven they have as well the things he's brought them separately.

- He tells them that the manuscript they have is a cookbook for soups and stews, and almost all the recipes have options for when serving non-dwarves (so as not to accidentally poison humans and others less resistant to poison)

- Glorina tries to throw in a clause that Rusty will donate his body to the museum as a dwarven artifact if he dies

- He name drops Tiff as well

- The money will be delivered to the Curlywit Boarding House

 

- Rusty comes back to the hospital and finds Tiff first. She explains what she's discovered about the disease, and he asks if being in a desert environment would help, and she says maybe. She's named the disease Dragonscale Rash

- The two of them go to the teleportation circle with Rusty showing Theophania the "address" to one of the circles he saw in the desert and she figures out where to put all the sigils and activates the portal.

- Rusty goes through because he knows how to activate the device on the other side

 

- Osiris finds that the cadaver just basically has a calcified throat that is so tight they can't breathe or swallow anymore, but doesn't continue into the lungs.

- She then messages Tiff and discovers that she has sent Rusty through the Teleportation Circle. She is EXASPERATED beyond all imagining because they just got Rusty BACK from the desert.  

 

- Rusty appears in the room he recognizes and he sees Breaker and Striker waiting on him there, and they don't have much to report except that his other friends went back home

- He teaches Striker and Breaker how to run the machine so they can send people back to Mistverge, and then he goes back to the Temple.

- He then helps her come up with intravenous fluid injection to prevent dehydration in the patients who can't expose the rash to water

- They end up setting up a small ward for the Dragonscale Rash patients with all their attempts at a remedy and a couple of nurses guarded by Striker and Breaker 

- LONG REST

- 3,000 XP ea for 106,000 XP total ea.

No entry! Bad dragon! - November 10, 2023

 - Ninja embroidery (appliqué?)

- Group therapy session in a major way

- Theophania and Osiris with some help from Rusty gather about three soul-containing crystals to bring back for experimenting on how to release the souls without destroying them 

- Tiff sprays the room with a concoction from her alchemists supplies to hide their scent to help hide who was here

- Osiris draws some glyphs of protection (religious, not arcane) then uses a second spell slot to cast Stone Shape to close the opening completely

- Rusty carves in common over the bakery door, "No entry! Bad dragon!"

- They take their crystal, which is about the last thing Tiff can fit in the bag of holding and head back up and out of the tunnel where they stop to camp in a Leomund's Tiny Hut, so Tiff does another Sending to Great Aunt Thessalie, "Auntie, I'm scared. There's just us against Agonir and millions of trapped souls. What if we fail? What happens to the people of Mistverge? Miss you."

- Tiff basically falls asleep almost immediately and has a dream where Thessalie comforts her and tells her that she can only do her best, but that Tess believes that Tiff can do great things and then they have tea and Tiff finally gets to tell all her adventures to the one person who she's wanted to know about them in all the world

 

- Once they get back to Mistverge, Tiff entrusts Osiris with the bag of holding after taking out a present for her niece that she made ages ago when she was making magic items and heads to her parents house

- Lyrielle and Raiàn go to their rooms at the Cutlywit boarding house to rest (and probably also avoid roleplay)

- There are fewer people on the streets than even the cold, damp weather would call for

 

- Osiris takes the bag of holding with the soul crystals and goes straight to Birel to get help with them

- Before she can even it out to show him, he asks if it has something to do with the disease, and she has a wait, what moment

- The disease causes people to get a rash, and then it's like their bodies can't take in water so they die of thirst no matter how much water they drink, and several people have died while the group has been out

- They do not yet know how it spreads, though if it's through air, water, or contact

- There are currently two people in the hospital wing who have the disease

- Osiris goes to investigate one of the bodies of people who have passed from the disease and sees the scaly, greenish rash on her neck and the same pattern inside her throat as well

- She takes a sample of the rash for Tiff

- Osiris then finally gets to show Birel and the other two high-priests the soul crystals

 

- Lyrielle and Raiàn return to the boarding house and Jinora is there with Callie and Magnus.

- The story of Lyrielle getting eaten by a giant bug is told. Jinora is impressed that she survived and really wished she knew the Sending spell.

- Raiàn gets a Message from the temple about the disease and not to drink the water

- Callie explains that it's really just in the slums by the river just south of the docks on both the east and west banks, but no halflings have been affected yet (where the fog is...)

- Tiff's healing bonk of a hammer is explained.

- Tiff gives the belated birthday present for Vera (now aged four) to her brother Eldie explaining about how she knows Vera can't have a pet because of Eldon's severe allergies no matter how much she wants a rabbits, and how the pot is enchanted to cause a carefully tended plant in it to become Awakened and behave a bit like a pet

- Eldon didn't even realize Tiff was gone for the week, so he doesn't really believe her when she tries to warn him about the dragon and he takes some convincing, but he finally acknowledges the problem and agrees to get the word out through the Mistverge halfling Hive in case there's a need to evacuate. He gives her an apology chocolate, and she takes off on her broom to go help Osiris figure out how to cure the new disease in town (message through the earring), release the souls from the crystals, kill Agonir, and save Mistverge. No big.

Exploding Bugs and Minds (Well, One Mind) - November 3, 2023

 CENTIPEDE BATTLE

- Lyrielle drinks an Elixir of Resistance (from Tiff) and moves a little closer to the nearest centipede

- Raiàn casts Fireball and discovers the centipede are immune 

- The Centipede (C1) nearest Lyrielle moves up to bite her, but she dodges with her DMS

- Osiris casts Aid (level 4) on Lyrielle, Thoephania, and Raiàn then steps back

- C2 waits to see what's going to happen

- Rusty goes into a Rage, ("You can't flank the butt.") moves to flank C1 with Lyrielle and misses with his first swing then strikes with his second (10 slashing dmg) and Rusty takes 6 (3) fire dmg

- Tiff casts Haste on Rusty 

- Lyrielle smacks C1 with her staff for 9 bludgeoning dmg, and she takes 8 fire dmg then she punches it for 6 bludgeoning dmg and she takes 9 fire dmg from its carapace. It cries out and there is an answering rumble from a deep in a blobb mass of webby stuff

- Raiàn casts Cone of Cold on both centipedes and Rusty, but the centipedes are also immune to cold, so only Rusty take dmg (6)

- C1 turns and misses Rusty 

- Osiris steps forward next to Tiff again casts Bless on everyone except herself wonders out loud if there is any kind of elemental damage they aren't immune to, then steps back into the hall again

- Mama rushes out of the nest of webbing and bites Lyrielle for 48 piercing dmg and 10 fire dmg and she is grappled in its mandibles (She is Restrained)

- C2 moves to flank Rusty and bites him for 22 (11) piercing and 6 (3) fire dmg 

- Rusty slices into C1 for 16 slashing and he takes 9 (4) fire dmg then he slices into it again for 18 slashing dmg and he takes 9 (4) splash back fire dmg then again for 25 slashing dmg and the splash back is 10 (5) fire dmg

- Tiff activates her Rope of climbing while running forward 10', then sends it forward with the Healing Bonk hammer then reels out the rope while moving back to where she was before. At this point Tiff has analyzed the creatures biology quickly and yells that she thinks anything except fire and cold will work on them

- Lyrielle struggles in the jaw of Mama

- Raiàn casts Chain Lightning for 52 lightning dmg on the babies, but Mama only takes 26 

- C1 explodes (no fire dmg luckily)

- Osiris moves up to Lyrielle and casts Cure Wounds (lvl 3) on her for 21 HP then she steps back one more time 

- Mama chomps down on Lyrielle for 31 piercing dmg and 6 fire dmg and she is swallowed then she moves over to Osiris

- C2 bites Rusty for 28 (14) piercing and 14 (7) fire dmg 

- Rusty moves to flank Mama getting bitten again by C2 for 21 (10) piercing and 12 (6) fire dmg then slices into Mama for 18 slashing and 7 (3) fire dmg splash back and again for 21 slashing with 11 (5) fire dmg splash and lastly for 16 slashing dmg with 13 (6) fire dmg splash

- Tiff sends the Rope 10' closer to Rusty, then casts Melf's Acid Arrow on Mama for 21 acid dmg

 

- Lyrielle uses Wholeness of Body to regain 33 HP while inside Mama's belly

- Raiàn casts Chromatic Orb (lvl 5) on Mama for 58 lightning dmg 

- Osiris moves around Mama and casts Heal on Rusty for 78 HP then moves back so that she and Rusty are still flanking

- Mama takes 15 acid dmg from the lingering Acid Arrow then Lyrielle takes 17 digestion acid dmg then misses biting Osiris

- C2 moves to flank Rusty with its Mama and then bites Rusty for 32 (16) piercing and 15 (7) fire dmg

- Rusty misses Mama with his great axe then slices into her for 11 slashing dmg with 13 (6) fire splash then again for 10 slashing dmg with 16 (8) fire splash and Mama is split open DEAD!

- Tiff moves around Raiàn sends the Rope of Climbing so that the Healing Bonk is adjacent to Rusty and then casts Melf's Acid Arrow on C2 for 13 acid dmg

- Lyrielle wiggles out of Mama's dead body, stands up and shakes the stomach acid off, then move adjacent to C2 to help Rusty hitting C2 for 8 bludgeoning and then again for 13 bludgeoning dmg taking 5 fire dmg in the process, then she Disengages and moves back 5'

- Raiàn casts Magic Missile on C2 for a total of 9 force dmg and it's dead too! (Go Chain Lightning!)

- Everyone takes a deep breath, and the undamaged Osiris pokes her head into the webby nest where Mama was hiding and she finds a carved alabaster mask

- The mask is a full face mask with a pointy chin and sort of little horns at the top that look slightly demonic, but she gets the idea that it might be orcish in origin.

- She also find some random bits of dwarven detritus

- While they are sitting around looking at what Osiris dragged out, Rusty wonders out loud what happened to the dwarves, and Tiff says, "Oh Lellzutho destroyed the dwarven civilization before he possessed my grandpa and destroyed Hedrimond." 

- Rusty's mind is blown, and a short rest is spent providing more details, but that big one is that now he knows what happened to him and his creatures.  

- 2,500 XP ea for 100,000 XP total ea (LEVEL 12!)
