Rusty's Rusty Bits - June 7, 2024

- Theophania hears back from her Great-Aunt, but it's just a feeling of surprise and the feeling of a warm hug.

 - Tiff Sends again, "No, seriously auntie, I need words telling me where to find the Dwoids. The dwarves should be allowed to reconnect with their history and culture."

- Thessalie responds with a hint of confusion and "They were in some ruins in the east, you know, past the giants." 

- Tiff turns to Kagnar and tells him that Great-Aunt Thessalie was never great with directions...

- Kagnar doesn't want to tell Sharai that they exist.

- Tiff gets everyone to agree that after the dragon is gone to go on an adventure to find the Dwoids to reunite them with the dwarves who survived the destruction of Lellzutho.

- Rusty requested a diagnostic from the dwarves who say that he is very old, but they will try.

- MEANWHILE, Osiris wanders through town looking for something like a temple and gets a lot of stares. She finds a temple built into the bedrock with the symbol of a hammer and an anvil. She casts Tongues on herself and asks who the temple of for (Reorx) and she also confirms that she would be allowed to go in. The person is very suspicious of her as the only non-dwarf they have ever seen.

- Osiris goes in. It's not a huge building, and it's ALL stone, especially the pews. There are also a lot of anvils in the room. Maybe up to a dozen. They all look used as well. There are doors at the back, so she goes and knocks on the wooden door. An older dwarf with a salt and pepper answers the door and is flabbergasted to find an elf. He is Father Orodon

- OOO - Dwarven euphemism for making babies - manufacturing

- OOO - Another Dwarven euphemism for having sex - banging anvils.

- Osiris on the way back to the taverns hears lots of "What is that? That's not a dwarf. Is that an elf?!"

- Tiff shows Kagnar her Healing Hammer "Bonk!" He dies laughing.

- They sit around talking for a bit, and then the room shakes a bit. Kagnar doesn't know exactly what it was, but he's not worried.

- After a little more chatter, they head over to the temple.

- Father Orodon speaks Common!

- Osiris and Theophania get to participate in the drumming ceremony (hammers to anvils)

- The next morning, Kagnar comes to get Rusty, Theophania, and Osiris for the diagnostic of Rusty. He takes them to another building that has a lift that takes them even deeper into the earth into what looks like a laboratory.

- The dwarven artificers find the button that opens Rusty's back and they find where is memory cards are, and find that two of the six are pretty corroded. They analyze what they are made of and gather those same materials in appropriate quantities and Tiff uses Fabricate to create extremely accurate duplicates which they install with Rusty's permission.

- His memories are still patchy, but they're clearer now. So Osiris pauses her note taking and casts Regenerate and holds it for an hour and they watch wiry fibers grow and make new connections.

- The two artificers are Azka and Kaluki.

- Kaluki recommends the children's book See Rog Smith as a good starting point to learn Dwarven.

- From their hiding places in the jungle, people with a Perception roll over 20, they can hear another mechanical dragonfly flying about looking for them.

- Ràian casts Greater Invisibility on Rusty and he goes to try to talk to the dragonfly again and he goes sprinting off 

- He stops after about 12 seconds to get away from the rest of the group, and then stops and listens again

- He goes to head in the direction of it again, when he is tackled by a metallic panther.

- He speaks to the panther, "Hi, you're a big metal kitty. We're friendly. We come in peace." 

- It lifts it head and makes some kind of noise, and then there's a chittering sort of sound and there are mechanical spiders coming for him.

- Rusty asks Tiff's opinion on if he can smash the 'bots. She asks him not to.

- He asks the panther / spiders if he promises to come quietly if they can skip the tying him up part, and the panther gives him a nod and a "but don't make me fuck you up" sort of look, which is impressive since it's metal.

- Osiris manages to follow Rusty's path while her friends take care of making sure she and Tina don't give their positions away.

- Lyrielle gets the impression, the feeling, that something is tracking them back and says so quietly.

- Osiris looks up and sees up in that tree over there, there's another metal panther tracking them.

- She casts Tongues on herself and tells it that they are following to make sure their friend doesn't get hurt and that they just want some leaves. 

- It jumps down and Osiris crouches down to its level to be less threatening as it pads over to her.

- Tiff who had previously waved at it, hides behind Ràian because it looks like an animal.

- The panther nods at Osiris and herds them in the direction they were going anyway.

- Tiff tries to ride her broom to keep up and the panther does NOT like it, Osiris tries to put Tiff right on the panther's back, and neither Tiff nor the panther like it. The panther calls a spider to tie Tiff up and drag her.

- Ràian puts Tiff on her shoulders.

- Osiris Messages Rusty to let them know they aren't alone on their way to their destination.

- About 45 minutes later, they come to a village and are led to a particular building.

- It looks like a jail or holding cell.

- Osiris is desperate to give their herding panther a scritch and it shoves her into the building.

- The two panthers sit on either side of the door to their cell and play guard.

- Half an hour after sitting around in their cell and cleaning up their wounds, a man who is a little bit taller than a halfling and definitely shorter than a human with a big red bushy beard.

- He speaks in Common, but his accent is very old.

- He is very interested in talk to Rusty, asks where he's from and Rusty says Kunzak.

- After a bit of conversation between Rusty and the dwarf whose name is Kagnar, they are let out of the cell and they continue chatting as they walk, and Tiff starts telling him as her Great-Aunt Thessalie. He is fascinated by her story about the Dwoids.

- The building they go into is basically just a staircase down into the earth.

- Kagnar calls Rusty a "historical citizen"

- At the bottom of the staircase, there's like an open plaza and there are other dwarves there. Maybe 50 people in this plaza.

- Tiff asks Kagnar if she can talk to people and when he says yes tentatively she immediately darts off to a person who was looking at her with equal curiosity and drags Tina with her as a translator. She immediately starts asking about dwarven words and help this young person with their Common. Osiris follows to chaperone.

- Kagnar takes Rusty, Lyrielle, and Ràian to a tavern and they discuss Vulcand before Tiff and Tina show up to say that Osiris sent them to tell Kagnar she's gone to find a local temple to commune with the local holy people.

- Kagnar says there are about 50,000 dwarves in this city now.

- "I have diagrams." for the 1,000th time

- Tiff bargains for knowledge about the Dwoids to get to visit again.

- She sends to Thessalie (because she's not technically a living person so THAT's not breaking the secret), "There are living dwarves! Can you tell me where the Dwoids were? They've lost their history, and the Dwoids could maybe help them. Love you!"

Bay Beach Barrier Bugs, directed by Michael Bay - May 3, 2024

 - Remote play for April's sinus surgery

- Dice kitty "Just because I can't see it doesn't mean I don't need to write it down."

- The group spends a couple of day walking down the coast, but they haven't seen any bay trees yet.

- So on the fourth day when they see an island off the coast in the direction they are walking with a lot of trees. It's a barrier island a couple of miles off the coast.

- Osiris ritually casts Water Walk on the group (except Tiff and Tina who are on Tiff's broom)

- They walk for about an hour over the water, then Tiff casts Rope Trick and they all ascend to the extradimensional safe space for a recast, and they have to do this twice and almost a third time before they reach the sandy beach of the island

- There are a couple shipwrecks. A few small fishing vessels on the beach, but also there's a much larger vessel out on the shoals, and all of them look like they were fire damage.

- Not all the boats look like they were shipwrecked at the same time.

- Tiff does a quick fly-around of the big boat out in the water, and she sees that the ship had a major fire and it's weatherworn, so it's been there for a while. There's no reef, it's just stuck on sand, and there are little chips and scorch marks like maybe a firebolt spell?

- Osiris casts Locate Object for Bay leaves and gets a ping north of her 837 ft.

- Tiff is flying along maybe 10' above the ground when she runs into some kind of invisible wall. She manages to do a somersault and land on her feet holding the broom.

- Rusty can't feel the wall and can walk through it.

- Dwarven made invisible force field?

- Everyone except Tiff starts to notice a buzzing sound. It's above and farther inland.

- Osiris climbs onto the broom with Tiff and they start flying up, trying to see the the wall has a top.

- One of Osiris's arrow's doesn't get stopped by the barrier and neither does her hammer. 

- The buzzing is starting to get very loud, and there are three things that are about the size of an eagle and they look like mechanical dragonflies.

- The force field is a dome, by the way.

- Tiff jets on the broom back in the direction of the ground

BEACH BUGGY BATTLE

- Rusty Rages and calls out in Dwarven, "Stand down, we're friendly!" and he readies an attack action if one of the Mechanical Dragonflies does something aggressive to anyone in the party.

- MD1 casts something at MD2 that gives it a glimmering sort of shield, and the dive bombs Ràian for 16 bludgeoning dmg (tail hit) then darts away again. Then it shoots her with a lightning bolt for 15 (7) lightning dmg

- Ràian moves to within 15' of MD1 and casts Burning Hands on it for 13 fire dmg and then moves back toward the group again

- MD2 dives for Tina for 16 bludgeoning dmg and then shoots her for 14 lightning dmg

- Osiris casts Aura of Vitality on herself (she can't tell if the aura reach through the barrier or not) and then she sends Tina 10 HP

- MD3 dives at Lyrielle for 13 bludgeoning dmg and then shoots her for 22 lightning dmg

- Lyrielle uses a ki point to Dodge as a bonus action then climbs on the broom with Tiff and readies an attack action for Tiff to bring her to one of the 

- Tiff tries to put MD2 that attacked Tina in a Resilient Sphere, but it dodges. Then she flies with Lyrielle over to MD3 and Lyrielle punches it for 10 bludgeoning dmg.

- Tina casts a 4th level Fire ball over the ocean such that MD2 and MD3 are in the range but Lyrielle and Tiff are not. They take 30 fire dmg, and then Tina runs and hides behind a nearby palm tree.

- Rusty throws two javelins and misses twice. But he does put himself closer to the one that was attacking Tina

- MD1 dive bombs Ràian again for 18 bludgeoning dmg and she Telekinetically Reprisals it for 6 force dmg and it discombobulated enough not to shoot lightning at her

- Ràian casts a 6th level Fireball such that it gets MD1 and MD3 without hitting anyone else for 45 fire dmg. And that's her turn.

- MD2 misses Tiff on its dive bomb and then shoots her with lightning for 21 dmg.

- Osiris sends Ràian 14 HP. Then she casts Aid at 4th level on Ràian, Tiff, and Lyrielle (15 HP up).

- MD3 smacks Lyrielle without needing to move for 12 bludgeoning dmg and then gets smacked for 8 bludgeoning as it moves away from her then it misses with the lightning bolt.

- Tiff shoots MD2 with Melf's Acid Arrow (3rd level) for 12 acid dmg and then flies Lyrielle over to MD2 where she punches it again. Tiff then drops off the broom into the soft sand below leaving Lyrielle in control of the broom

- Tina casts a 5th level Cloud of Daggers around MD3 for 22 slashing dmg. She then continues to hide behind the tree.

- Rusty runs and leaps and grabs MD3 by the legs and pulls it down onto the beach. He is holding it by the legs and it is squirming.

- MD1 dives at Ràian again for 15 bludgeoning dmg and she Telekinetically Reprisals it again for 9 force dmg

- Ràian casts a 5th level Fireball for 20 fire dmg and MD2 crumbles into bits to the ground. The copse of trees at the water line is now on fire.

- Md2 is dead!

- MD3 escapes from Rusty's grip and flies away up the beach inside the barrier. Rusty stabs MD3 for 15 piercing dmg

- Osiris attempts to Misty Step through the barrier, but she rebounds off of the barrier and ends up standing next to where she was before she cast the spell, so she turns and casts Toll the Dead on MD1 for 25 (necrotic dmg, and the dmg doesn't seems to be as bad as it should be.

- Lyrielle is on a broom! She flies to MD1 and punches it for 9 bludgeoning dmg and then again for 13 bludgeoning dmg and then again for 12 bludgeoning and MD1's face collapses inward and it falls to the beach.

- Tiff sends the Healing Bonk Hammer over to Ràian and then she moves near to Osiris and the barrier and calls to Rusty to grab the last MD and bring it to her to try to deactivate.

- Tina casts Magic Missile at 4th level for 12 force dmg. She continues to hide behind the palm tree.

- Rusty tackles MD3 again and drags it over to Tiff who Tinkers it for 25 effective dmg though it's non-destructive to the construct

- Ràian takes some rope out of her bag and attempts to tie it up so that it can't fly any more.

- MD3 misses Ràian with a lightning bolt and then claws Tiff for 16 dmg

- Osiris backs away from the melee that has overtaken her and sends 16 HP to Tina. She then asks Tina is she thinks Dispel Magic would work on the barrier. Tina has no idea. Osiris suggests she try on her next turn.

- Lyrielle strategically punches it for 6 bludgeoning dmg and then again for 11 bludgeoning dmg so she stomps it for 8 bludgeoning dmg

- Tiff keeps going with her tinker tools and it powers down!

- Tiff finds some similarities to Rusty's construction, but less refined. She is sketching and diagramming and note taking furiously. 

- Tina casts Dispel Magic on the barrier and you can see it hit the barrier and see ripples through it, 

- There is a whistling sound, also mechanical, and there is something flying over the trees moving very fast. The thing looks a bit like a cross between a bird and an airplane. It has fixed wings that are shaped like a bird's, but they don't flap. The front of it also looks a bit like a bird's head.

- Osiris says everyone step through the interrupted barrier on the count of three.

- Rusty grabs Tina and gets ready to carry her through the barrier.

- Osiris casts Dispel Magic and crosses the invisible barrier.

- Lyrielle runs through

- Ruff runs through

- Tina is carried through by Rusty.

- The flying thing dives straight at Tiff and hits her for 23 bludgeoning dmg and explodes dealing 26 bludgeoning dmg and 24 fire dmg to Tiff and half as much to everyone else (except Lyrielle who was completely out of range of the explosion). 

- Osiris casts Mass Healing Word on everyone for 11 HP, then yells run and take her own advice, heading inland.

- They find a good spot to hide in the jungle.

- 2,200 XP ea for 140,000 XO total ea.

A Very Productive Session - April 5, 2024

- Dice kitten

- Once they land in Mistverge, Osiris and Russell immediately go to bed since they did a 24 hour spell in Wistaria.

- Theophania spends 3 hours using some of Raiàn's scale to make them a Scroll of Sending.

- Raiàn Sends to Sunny, "Bro, things went fast here. I'm coming with friends to acquire the bay. Can meet your associate from Pradak near the summer palace."

- Sunny, "Huh, what are you talking about? I don't have an associate. Maybe your associates can gather the sticks you need."

- Theophania visits the Callie's boardinghouse to get the materials she requested to do scrolls for Jinora, and then spends the rest of the day making two Scrolls of Sending and one of Lesser Restoration for her. 

- Once Osiris wakes up she checks in with Birel, who says that nothing new bad has happened.

- She then updates Rowan about what happened in Wistaria. 

- Rusty interrupts Tiff's scroll making to ask about upgrading his axe, but she thinks it would take about a week, but she promises to think about it for him.

- Tiff delivers the scrolls and the scraps of materials left-over to Jinora

- The next morning everyone (the group plus Tina, no Russell) meets at the temple and Raiàn teleports them to the "summer palace" where she spent summers as a kid

- The group materializes in the courtyard of a large two-story manor house. 

- The group stand around discussing what to do when the door opens and another dragonborn woman comes out to ask what's going on. She is Margaret.

- Osiris asks Margaret if she knows where bay trees are, but she doesn't so they go to the kitchen to ask the chef. 

- Apparently Sunny cut all the bay trees on the grounds down because "it was too shady around here" so they'll have to walk a few days south along the cost to get to a grove

- The chef gives them a little snack of bread with garlic and olive oil for dipping before they head out.

- Raiàn lets Margaret know that she and her friends are heading out to look for bay trees, so the rooms aren't a high priority

- They walk out of the walls and are confronted directly by the ocean which is only a few hundred feet away.

- While, Osiris, Lyrielle, and Theophania frolic with their first site of the ocean and play in the waves, Rusty Communes with Nature. 

- Rusty learns there are a few shoots of bay trees around the house, but there is also something maybe two miles down the coast.

- Rusty learns there are no powerful elements within 3 miles of their location.

- Rusty learns there are no influences from other planes of existence within 3 miles of their location.

- Osiris plays a prank on Tina who doesn't appreciate it.

- They finally start walking in the direction of the tree Rusty sense.

Fight for Your Right to Party (or you know, not to live in slavery or whatever) - March 15, 2024

 - Complimentary dinosaur

BATTLE AT THE DISEASE CATHEDRAL

- Osiris casts Sleep on 8 of the ten enslaved peasants who are attacking at the behest of the evil priests

- Brother Michael (BrM) morphs into a demon with five horns and five glowing red eyes and six arms and he makes eyes at Osiris and he fires a dark burst of energy at her for 18 force dmg

- Rusty Rages and run forward 40' and readies an attack if one of the priests gets near enough

- Raiàn studies BrM and determines that he probably immune to psychic dmg and other other mind stuff and probably so she casts Chain Lightning on him and Brother Francis (BrF) for 34 lightning dmg ea.

- BrF casts a spell and he is now casting by a shimmering globe.

- BrM blinks out of existence and re-appears near (10') Osiris and reaches out a giant stretched out arm to her and casts something vampiric so he deals 23 necrotic dmg to her and heals some amount of HP (less than 23 we have been assured).

- The two awake peasants run for their lives.

- Lyrielle moves forward and readies an attack if BrF gets near enough

- Russell shouts "I will fell you foul demon!" and darts over to BrM and slices into him for 19 slashing dmg then again for 10 dmg

- BrM reaches down and backhands Russell for 18 bludgeoning dmg and Russell is knocked prone

- Tina does a test Magic Missile, but it is absorbed by the shield on BrF

- Theophania casts Haste on Russell, readies her Healing Bonk on a Rope of Climbing and then backs up next to Tina

 

- Osiris casts Dispel Evil and Good on herself and then she backs up a bit. She studies BrM and decides he's moderately charismatic

- BrM casts a beam of dark energy at Raiàn for 16 force dmg and then again for 17 force dmg

- Rusty darts up to BrF slices him for 17 slashing and then misses

- Raiàn casts Cone of Cold on BrM so that they won't hit Russell for 21 (10) cold dmg

- BrF grabs Rusty with Shocking Grasp for 19 (9) lightning dmg and no reactions for Rusty then he runs toward his partner in crime

- BrM glares at Rusty who just chopped BrF and Rusty takes 40 psychic dmg and Rusty is Frightened until the end of his next turn.

- The two peasants who are awake continue running (one dives into lake and starts swimming)

- Lyrielle darts up to BrF and misses punching him then kicks him for 13 bludgeoning dmg 

- Russell casts a Channel Divinity healing Osiris and Raiàn for 8 HP after standing up, then slices at BrM three times for a total of 60 dmg

- Tina tries to casts Telekinesis on BrF, but the sheid eats her spell. She curses in Elven.

- Tiff moves next to Osiris and hands her a Elixir of Healing, then casts Dispel Magic on the shimmery sphere around BrF and it crumbles. She hollers to Tina, "It's okay. Try again!"

- Osiris Misty Steps next to BrM then moves around to flank him with Russell then she then smashes him with her warhammer for 4 bludgeoning and 8 radiant dmg then she smacks him again for 

- BrM blinks out of existence and re-appears way behind Rusty away from everyone

- Rusty dashes up to BrF flanking with Lyrielle and slices into him for 15 slashing dmg and BrF explodes killing all but one of the sleeping villagers and dealing 55 necrotic dmg to Lyrielle, 27 necrotic dmg to Russell, and Rusty takes 13 necrotic dmg, BrF is disintegrated along with all those villagers.

- Raiàn casts a 7th level Fireball on BrM for 33 fire dmg and she also breaks a window and there's now a bit glass stuck in one of his five horns

- BrM locks eyes with Raiàn and they take 51 psychic dmg and they are Frightened of BrM until the end of R's net turn

- Lyrielle moves to BrM and punches him for 13 bludgeoning and then kicks him for 13 bludgeoning dmg and then again for 13 bludgeoning and then one more time for 16 bludgeoning dmg

- Russell runs at quadruple speed to flank BrM with Lyrielle shouting "Taste my steel, demon!" and strikes into BrM three times for a total of 36 total dmg. Brother Michael is

 

-Tiff sprays her feet with her Water Walk stuff and then goes after the swimming person so they don't drown, but uses her broom to catch up right at first.

- Osiris wakes up the only sleeping villager left, and tries to comfort him, but it doesn't go great.

- The swimming villager basically faints as soon as they get back to shore, so Tiff hands him over to Rusty and goes after the villager who ran more inland.

- Rusty takes the swimmer with the sleeper into town

- Osiris casts Sending to Thomas, "So we killed the demons. You want to come into town and help us figure out what the hell to do next?"

- Thomas, "I can't believe they're gone. I'll meet you at the Spiral Duck."

- Tiff finds the runner and tells him the good / bad news, and gives him some tea.

- She then joins her friends and the sleeper tells them that there were more workers inside, so Tiff flies back to release them from their servitude and back to their lives

- Osiris feeds people and gets Raiàn to add some extra flavor with Prestidigitation.

- After re-uniting the community, Osiris and Tiff go back to the construction site and investigate the store room the brothers' were keeping and they find a few barrels of food (like salted meats), a barrel of incense (probably to consecrate the temple once construction was complete), two barrels of and like five barrels of viscera that is mostly human, but also a little bit animal.

- Tina uses Create bonfire to cremate those barrels, but she vomits because the smell is so bad.

- The next morning Theophania uses the spell Fabricate to level the temple (the stone and wood and earth bleed through this process, so Osiris uses control water to wash the blood away as this is happening) and then she builds some simple stairs up to a flat area over the foundation of the desecrated space, and then builds a simple cross in the middle with simple carvings of all the names of the people that the evil brothers killed in the process. Any wood from the structure is made into simple benches around the foundation.

- Lyrielle between the memorial and the benches creates some Zen garden resting areas.

- Then Osiris, Russell, and Thomas Consecrate the new memorial (24 hours of meditation and burning incense).

- Once all that is done, Tina Teleport Circles everyone back Mistverge.

- Waiting in Osiris's room once she gets there is a large urn full of the needed spores.

- The current inventory stands at 105/160 flasks of holy water, all the Life Everlasting Flowers needed, all the sage stalks needed, all the Heal-All roots needed, all the Moonwort spores needed, and still needing the bay leaves and branches.

A Terrifying Meeting - March 8, 2024

 - Mountains with dragon

- The old man does not want to be involved, but he does say that Thomas Potnam lives in a house on the other side of the lake.

- Tiff returns to her friends and they eat stew and have some beer 

- Tina is really skeeved out by Wistaria because it's too quiet.

- Tiff talks about how forests are still creepier, and tells the story about how she was chased and tackled by a sheepdog when visit her cousins' farm and she thought it was going to chew her nose off

- They set off after their lunch and start the about four hour walk to get to Thomas Potnam's house.

- They decide to make camp near his house since the magic users used some pretty high level magic before or during travel much to the chagrin of Rusty and Russell

- Lyrielle takes some elixirs from Tiff to help her out and then heads off to scout Mr. Potnam's house

- The house has boarded up windows and the area is unnaturally quiet near it.

- She sneaks up and peeks into the window and she's a lone dude eating a meal of a simple stew and some hard, dry bread. His clothes are worn and ragged. The room has a hearth and a small bed and his chair.

- Before she goes to sleep for the night, Osiris casts Legend Lore on Morgion and has a vision where she sees that in his domain he lives in a bronze tower at the edge of the abyss. Followers of Morgion spread pestilence and disease. She understands that he is interested in the decay of all things from the level of the individual to whole societies. He is opposed to anything healthy, wholesome, or painless. He believes you must be strong to survive and to survive you must suffer. Everywhere he goes there is plague and horror. He remains apart and isolated from the other gods.

- Russell snores very loudly in his sleep.

- Tiff passes out chamomile and Valerian tea and wax (for your ears).

- Once they wake up and sort themselves out, they go to the house and everyone except Tiff "hides" (Lyrielle is the only one who succeeds at hiding), and Tiff knocks on the door.

- Mr. Potnam is terrified and slams the door in her face, then when Tiff knocks again, the door flies open and a much larger being with a mace flings the door open and glares menacingly.

- The rest of the party starts to draw weapons, but Tiff just starts monologu0ing about all the good Mishakal does in the world and they will not go away until this problem is taken care of.

- Turns out the giant person who has inhabited Mr. Potnam's body is Nabair, warrior Kiri-Joleth. The symbol over the door is intended to bar entry to the followers of Morgion.

- Kiri-Joleth is the lawful good god of honor and war.

- Osiris casts Detect Evil and Good, and Nabair is definitely a celestial.

- Raiàn and Lyrielle can see around Nabair and the back door is open and Mr. Potnam has run.

- Tiff flies up in the air and sees Thomas running through a semi-distant copse of trees. She starts flying in that direction. Lyrielle also starts heading in that direction.

- Tiff talks him down and convinces him to come back to his little house and chat, though he does nearly have a heart attack when she flies up next to him on the broom.

- Thomas Potnam isn't personally plagued by demons, but the whole town of Wistaria is plagued by demons.

- Mr. Potnam was a teacher / scholar in the little church to Kiri-Joleth in town and a few years ago some new priests showed and started slowly changing things until they basically ran things and now they are building a much larger temple to Morgion.

- Tiff sketches a quick map of the lake and gets a vicinity from Thomas.

- The priests are Brother Michael, tall and thin with dark hair

- Another one is Brother Francis, slightly shorter with reddish hair

- Both are human in appearance at least.

- Tiff gives Thomas some tea as a parting gift to help him sleep (since he's so nervous), and they start walking back around the lake.

- They all agree this time to use Tiff's Walk Walk spray (ritually cast, but flavored for artificer), and it saved them some time

- The plan is that Russell and Rusty and Osiris will lead the way and call for the brothers Michael and Francis and start punching.

- The plan is followed, with Russell giving a very grandiose call for them to come forth.

- The tall one tells them to begone and the short one says "Remove them." and the people who are building the cathedral charge the group.

- We start next week by rolling initiative.

Teleportations and a Plan - March 1, 2024

- Osiris comes and asks Tina if she could teleport the group to Wistaria and Tina says maybe 

- Tiff does a Sending to Lord McNabb to ask if he has anything from Wistaria that they could borrow, but he does not.

- Osiris goes to check the library to see if there are any books from there

- Tiff takes Tina to the Groundswallow General Store to ask if they have anything from the Traveling Caravan that might have come from Wistaria.

- Over the earrings Osiris asks if anybody else had been to Wistaria, and Tiff suggests maybe Rusty can check in the history museum he's been selling Dwarven artifacts to.

- Osiris then goes and makes 17 more vials of holy water

- Tiff's parents and brother don't know if they have anything from Wistaria in the store because they don't track that sort of thing. She then casts Rope Trick so that Tina can play with her nieces and Vera and Bree and then Tiff visits with her family a little bit.

- Tina and Tiff then walk to the boarding house to say hi there as well, and so that Tiff can introduce Tina to Jinora.

- Jinora does not return in time to meet Tina that evening, so Tiff sends to her to ask if she might want to come, and she says sure.

- Raiàn and Tiff and Tina make a plan for Tina to use the circle to get them to Arrandale and then for Raiàn to teleport them from there to Wistaria, so that the mishap possibility will be smaller, since Arrandale is about 60% of the way to Wistaria from Mistverge.

- Osiris gets up as earlier as elven-ly possible, and she casts Scry on Thomas Potnam. She sees a human man in his thirties (ish). He looks disheveled and unkempt. He's staggering around the outside of a modest cottage with boarded-up windows. He's doing chores, like weeding the garden or feeding the chickens something. He seems very paranoid. It's overcast, and it looks like it might be chilly. There is a talisman over the door into the house made of bones with symbols painted around the talisman. Osiris takes notes on the talisman. Not far away from the house there is a thick copse of tree and in the other direction there is the lake and what presumable the town of Wistaria is not-quite the other side of the lake, but definitely around the bend a good bit.

- Her next activity is that she casts Legend Lore on Thomas Potnam, but nothing pops because he is not of legendary importance.

- Then before people start showing up she goes and fills in Birel on their latest task.

- She shows him her sketch of the talisman and the symbols, but he doesn't know anything about it.

- She then goes to the library to see if she can find anything about the symbols. In a book about religious symbology, she thinks they have something to do with Morgion, the god of disease and secrecy whose domain is death.

- Tiff has to come get Osiris out of the library so that Tina can get them all to Arrandale.

- Tina then teleports eight people (the PCs plus Jinora, Russell, and herself) to the academy of magic and they arrive in an open room with red, green, and gold banners and a bustling square full of mostly elves, but there are also humans, and some other of a few races.

- Tina takes them straight to Sharai's office who offers to teleport them to Wistaria.

- Tiff offers to Mend something for her before they are sent off. There's a faint look of nostalgia on her face before Sharai hands Tiff a book with a damaged spine. 

- After another quick teleport, they are standing in the town square (with a dry fountain) of presumably Wistaria. It is chilly and the fountain is dry. There are no people here. It is weirdly quiet. Tiff casts Death Ward on

- They decide to do some information gathering before just heading out.

- Tiff walks into the nearest shop that happens to be a small apothecary and asks about Thomas Potnam, any weird happenings around town, and then tells her about the Groundswallow Traveling Tinkers and Traders and how that's her family, and then buys a few Moonwort spores for 1 GP, so at least now she has a sample.

- The apothecary says that the only inn in town is the Spiral Duck on the north side of town near the lake, so they head that direction.

- They head to the inn, and there's one old man in the corner sitting at a table sipping a drink of some kind, and there's a barkeep in his 50s.

- They order food and drinks, and Osiris tells them all the things she did and saw this morning.

- While waiting for their food to arrive, Tiff heads over to the older man in the corner
