- The next morning after a long rest to get breakfast from a cafe, the group is walking down the street and there is a loud whoosing sound. There is a large black dragon flying overhead.
- It lands in front of the party.
- Raiàn steps forward and asks in Draconic, "Hey, what are you doing here?"
- It responds, "I have come to collect you."
- They then ask "Where are we going and to whom? Because we may not want to go with you."
DRAGON THROW-DOWN
- Rusty moves forward to the dragon, enters a rage, and readies attacking if it attacks first
- Theophania moves out of line with Rusty and Lyrielle and readies her crossbow in case it attacks anybody
- The dragon breaths acid at Rusty and Lyrielle and Rusty smashes it with his great sword for 16 slashing dmg, but Theophania's bolt goes wide, but Rusty and Lyrielle take 41 acid dmg.
- Raiàn says that she doesn't like that the dragon is hurting her friends, so she throws a Chromatic Orb at it for 12 cold dmg
- Lyrielle is on the ground unconscious
- Osiris casts Zephyr Stride then picks up Lyrielle and carries her to a small alley between two buildings. Then she yells at the dragon, "Why are you doing this?"
- The dragon responds in Common, "You cannot escape. You will be collected." It then makes a noise or call of some sort and three zombie-looking things crawl out of the sewer grates in the area.
- Rusty Disengages and runs back next to Tiff
- Theophania casts Cure Wounds on Rusty for 9 HP then she runs off farther up the street and notices a small statue on a nearby stoop.
- The dragon moves up the street towards Raiàn and breaths acid on her and Rusty for 55 acid dmg to him and 27 acid dmg to her. Rusty is DEAD. Literally dead, dead, dead.
- Zombie1 runs up to Osiris and misses her.
- Zombie2 moves up to Raiàn and claws her for 7 slashing dmg and then hits her again for 4 slashing dmg.
- Raiàn breaths Lightning at the dragon and Zombie3 for 4 lightning dmg each, then she casts Misty Step to teleport herself half-way up an alley, and then keeps running up the alley, but she can't seem to escape it. The alley is either slowly elongating or she is moving really slowly.
- Lyrielle is a little closer to death.
- Z3 moves to flank Osiris with Z1 and claws her for 10 slashing dmg and then again for 10 slashing dmg
- Osiris casts Turn Undead and then casts Cure Wounds (Lvl 2) on Lyrielle for 13 HP and she walks up to the dragon and tells it that if he fixes Rusty they'll go with him, but she is brandishing her war hammer and shield at it.
- Rusty is DEAD.
- Theophania casts Catapult on the small statue straight at the dragon, but it misses completely then she dashes farther up the street.
- The dragon misses Osiris three times with its claws.
- Z1 runs away form Osiris
- Z2 moves to flank Osiris with the dragon and hits her for 6 slashing dmg and the claws her again for 8 slashing dmg
- Raiàn runs to hide in a bush at the corner of a nearby building and then she casts Magic Missile (Lvl 2) at the dragon for 8 force dmg.
- Lyrielle stands up then steps toward Z3 and smacks it with her staff for 6 bludgeoning dmg then she kicks it for 5 bludgeoning dmg.
- Z3 claws Lyrielle for 4 slashing dmg and then again for 5 slashing dmg. She's not dead yet!
- Z4 moves up to Theophania and claws at her but misses and then claws her properly for 9 slashing dmg
- Z5 moves up to Raiàn in the bush and claws her for 7 slashing dmg and she is unconscious in a bush.
- Osiris puts her shield on her belt and then casts Zephyr Strike swinging her war hammer in both hands right into the dragon's chest plate where it bounces off ineffectually and then she says "Shit" and runs away into an alley father up the street than Lyrielle.
- Rusty is dead.
- Theophania hops to the base of the nearby tree and climbs it narrowly being missed by zombie claws, then she tries to shoot it with her crossbow, but she misses too. She is screaming. A lot.
- The dragon flies over to the halfling making a scene in a tree and breaths acid at her for 51 acid dmg and she falls DEAD out of the tree.
- Z1 runs across the street away from Osiris
- Z2 moves to flank Lyrielle with Z3 and misses her then claws her for 6 slashing dmg and she falls unconscious. Osiris is the last woman standing.
- Z3 moves up to Osiris and claws her for 8 slashing dmg
TPK
- The party wakes up in the boarding house in Raiàn's room and there's a no physical evidence of any fight on any of the party.
- Osiris says she needs to head back to the Temple, and Theophania (who is crying) wants to go home too.
- Note - it is currently spring and really early in the morning, like 2-3 AM.
- They head to the Temple and Osiris holds TIff's hand while they walk.
- Theophania goes to Great-Aunt Thessalie's old rooms to sit and collect herself.
- Raiàn, Lyrielle, and Rusty stay with Theophania in G-A T's rooms while Lyrielle and Osiris go to talk to Rowan Amblecrown, the headpriestess of worship and theology at the Temple
- Rowan says that there are magics that can affect minds in such a way, but there are several of them and if you don't know which one it is, it can be hard to ward against it.
- Osiris mentions that Tiff is quite traumatized, and Rowan suggests sending a Healer just to check her out
- So Osiris goes to get a healer from the hospital wing and sends them to Thessalie's old rooms
- George the healer shows up and uses the Sleep spell on Theophania.
- Osiris then heads to the apothecary to at least start on a Potion of Acid Resistance
- Rusty comes to find Osiris and finds her Trancing, so he sits near her in his own Standy-By Mode
- They get a real long rest this time.
- 760 XP ea for 5,140 XP total ea.
